The HPM Oncology Day Hospital wants to see the possibility of offering a musical intervention to its patients during chemotherapy, implemented on a recurring basis.
This initiative started in August by Francisco Lopes and his classical guitar, and the HPM plans to invite other artists, whose objective will always be to provide sensations of relaxation, distraction from pain and its intensity.
Music intervention in a hospital environment has been addressed for several years and in different contexts, namely in intensive care, operating room and also in oncological monitoring, its effect being explained by the way it works at the level of the central nervous system, evoking and/ or strengthening feelings and emotions.
